Terms of service

These terms cover your use of ownit.fan and the creator hubs on it ("Own"), operated by Ahmed Hagahmed in New York, USA ("we", "us"). By using Own you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Own.

Early access

Own is being built. Joining the early-access list doesn't create an account or guarantee access. We'll try to hold the link name you claim, but we may refuse or reassign names that are reserved, misleading, offensive, or that impersonate someone or infringe their rights.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to use Own, and 18 or older to earn money on it (or have a parent or guardian manage your account). Keep your login details safe; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

Your content and your fans

You keep ownership of everything you post on Own. You give us permission to host, copy, display and distribute your content only as needed to run your hub and the features you use. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.

Your fan list belongs to you. You can export it at any time, on any plan. You must follow applicable privacy and anti-spam laws when you contact your fans.

Connected platforms

If you connect YouTube, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Connecting Instagram, TikTok or other platforms is also subject to their terms. You must have the right to share any content we import for you.

What's not allowed

Don't use Own to post or sell:

• anything illegal, or content that sexualises or endangers minors
• sexually explicit content (swimwear, fitness and art are fine)
• hate, harassment, threats or content that encourages violence
• scams, impersonation or misleading claims
• content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark
• weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods or other restricted products

Don't attack, overload or try to break into Own, or scrape other creators' hubs or fans. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Where we can, we'll tell you why and let you appeal.

Copyright complaints

If you think content on Own infringes your copyright, email hello@ownit.fan with the content's link, the work you own, and your contact details. We'll review it promptly and remove infringing content.

Payments

Payments on Own are processed by Stripe, and creators must accept Stripe's terms to get paid. Our fees are shown on our pricing page before you pay anything. On the free plan we take a percentage of fan payments only when you earn; paid plans are charged monthly. Card processing fees are charged separately. Fans' purchases and refunds are between the fan and the creator, and creators set their own refund policies within the law.

Leaving Own

You can close your account at any time. Before you do, you can export your fan list and content. We can suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we'll give notice where we can.

Our service

We work hard to keep Own running, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Features, plans and prices may change; we'll give you notice of changes that affect you, and founding creators keep their price as promised.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Own isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses caused by third-party platforms, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Any dispute will be handled by the courts in New York County, New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and let you know by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Own after that means you accept the new terms.
